Bird Rock

Bird Rock, 24 x 24, acrylic

This is at Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve, Newfoundland, which I visited 2 summers ago and was enthralled by the thousands of birds nesting on the rocks and flying overhead. I have never seen anything like it.

Cape St. Mary’s is the third-largest nesting colony of northern gannets in North America, shown in this painting, and is home to many other birds.
