I wasn’t planning on doing a plein air painting this weekend, but my son was refereeing at a lacrosse tournament in the east end of Ottawa all weekend, so I decided to kill some time while I waited for him with a solo plein air session at Petrie Island.
It was lovely there. Not too busy and not as hot as previous days. So I set up my easel and away I went.

Only one person stopped to talk to me. A slightly older man who said he was retired and admired how peaceful I looked as I painted, and that he would like to give it a try, so I encouraged him to do so.
In 2 hours it was mostly done, though I may put some finishing touches on it at home.
